James Campfield, a regular blackjack player, hopes that luck will come his way. He entered the Blackjack Tournament at Winstar Casino named “The Split” after a friend of his won a chip and gave it to him. James was able to advance and now he must wait to the finals which will take place on the 16th of August.

When the game began, it had over 1000 players; James was lucky enough to end up in the lucky 28 who will participate in the $2 million tournament. The event will be shown live on ABC or ESPN as a reality television show, named “The Split”, hosted by Boston Bob and Michele Merkin, and will begin in June.

Mr Campfield had already participated in another mega tournament that was also shown on television. The monthly mega tournament winners were taken out shopping and also they got to visit a winery, where they were constantly taped. In spite of James’s thoughts on the whole show being a slow and arduous process, he thought it was a memorable experience and has decided to give reality show a second chance.

Until recently, Mr Campfield had worked in the maintenance department at Pizza Hut, when he decided to make poker and blackjack (his two passions) his fulltime job. He spends most days of the week at WinStar, from 10 am until 5pm, and once a week he travels to the casino for an evening tournament. There’s no doubt that this man is enjoying working hard and doing all that he can in order to become rich and famous while living his life passionately.
