NBA league chiefs have concluded a visit to Las Vegas to consider the city’s claims to be the ideal host for the 2007 All-Star weekend.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ Authority – the organisation spearheading the campaign - hosted a visit of NBA officials at the end of last week to tour possible sites to stage the event.
The main game would be staged at the UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center, with other surrounding events taking place at the Sands Expo Center, Mandalay Bay Convention Center and the Las Vega Convention Center.
All casinos have already agreed to block bets on the game should they be allowed to host the event.
